Prayer
We practice prayer as a conversation with God. It is the foundation of all we do as individuals and as a congregation. St. John’s offers several organized groups who pray for requests from members and friends.
Prayer Chain—members pray for members in need, treating all prayer requests with confidentiality. Please contact Gudrun to be included on the prayer chain.
Prayer Shawl Ministry—members gather together to knit or crochet prayer shawls, prayer squares, and chemo caps—providing a reminder of love during times of prayer. Two meeting times are offered each month and members can join one or both. Some members create items at home and deliver them to the church. All items receive a special blessing from members of the group before they are given out. Monthly meeting times are the second Wednesday at 6:30 PM and the third Monday at 1:30 PM. Thursday Prayer Group—meets Thursdays at 10:45 AM via Zoom to pray for members, ministries of the church, the community, and the world. All are welcome to join and bring prayer concerns. Please contact Gudrun for login information.
